School Receptionist
Position
The School Receptionist serves as the primary front-of-house representative for the Oregon Ballet Theatre School. This role provides a welcoming and professional presence for students, families, faculty, and visitors while supporting daily administrative operations of the school.
The School Receptionist assists with student services, general inquiries, and front desk operations, ensuring that communication with families and visitors is handled efficiently and with excellent customer service. This role prioritizes exceptional customer service and requires the ability to identify issues and route them to the appropriate level of the organization when needed.
Job Duties/Competencies

Front Desk & Family Services
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors entering the school, providing a welcoming and professional environment
- Answer phone calls and assist with in-person inquiries regarding class schedules, registration, and general school information
- Direct questions, concerns and all emails to the appropriate school staff when necessary, to the School Registrar
- Support student check-in and dismissal procedures to ensure safety and accountability.
- Monitor lobby and reception areas to maintain a safe, organized, and orderly environment.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist with basic registration support, including guiding families through the registration process and providing information about classes and programs either in person or over the phone, emails are to be directed to the School Registrar
- Maintain front desk materials, informational resources, and student sign-in procedures.
- Support the distribution of revised or updated communications, schedules, and announcements.
- Assist school staff with operational needs during busy class times, events, or performances as assigned.
- Perform general administrative tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience
* Current CPR/First Aid certification OR willingness to obtain this certification.
- High-School Diploma or Equivalency
- 1-2 years in an office or school administrative environment (or equivalent to).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure to meet deadlines.

Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using MINDBODY, or similar database or CRM system.
